Introducing The Warehouse Art Chix:

  • Cari Shell
My name is Cari Shell, I am the newest addition to the Warehouseartchix. I have just recently returned back to Texas from 5 years in New Mexico. (Hello to all my friends back there!!!-miss you bunches!) In New Mexico I was blessed to work with special needs children and fell in love, what a great experience to love and teach those children. I am the mother of three girls and grandmother to two (yes I am young to be a grandmother). My background is in Faux finishing, having previously worked for Sandra and her design Business. I have always had a love for art and am a self trained artist. Now I am back working for Sandra and am loving every minute of it! It brings back all of my inspiration and creativity to be around these chix! Keep watching for all our fun and exciting projects to come!
  • Debra Johnson
I am a wife and a mother to an 11 year old daughter, and an infant son. * NO...I'm not young...I've just S P R E A D out my child bearing years!:) I am an ART NUT by day and a 'wanna be' mom and wife by night and weekends. I say 'wanna be' due the fact that I am always looking for ways to improve in this department and have been very fortunate by being blessed with some fantastic friends who are terrific mothers that inspire me forward. I thought I had it all together until this new 'cutie patootie' came into my life...and now ANYTHING GOES for getting life, family, and art all into a 24 hour period. 4:00 pm........is as good as 4:00 am ~ the lights are always ON at my house. My art background is in ....simply being poor most of my life:) * Hehe ~ One MAKES... what they can't buy!! *And.... you learn to see beauty in OTHER things.... OTHER than what's in the store:) I am very blessed to be able to stay home and create an income with my weird 'what-nots'. A few years ago I had a cottage art studio called The Little Yellow House. We held many art classes, and rented the house out for events. It was filled... floor to ceiling.... with bizarre and wonderful creations!! * My favorite DECOR was the laughter of friends!! So now each week I join the other two Warehouse Artchix in the warehouse to create fun and colorful WHIMSIES together!! I LOVE this time with these 2 free, fabulous spirits!
  • Sandra Feazel
My name is Sandra Feazel and I am one third of The Warehouse Artchix! I am Mother to the two incredible children God has blessed me with. A daughter in college and a son in high school. I am an interior designer by day and an artist every chance I get. My back ground is in fine art and I spent my college years traveling and studying in Europe, an incredible experience that I hope to return to someday! I am blessed to be able to create everyday either in my design work or in my Studio. Each week I join the other two Warehouse Artchix in the warehouse to create together...feeding of the creative energy of some fabulous, fun and funky females that I so thankfully call dear friends! We hope you enjoy our art, mainstream it is not, it is just for fun and meant to make your heart soar!!!

The Rest of the Story.....the week gets rosey!!!!

By7 O.k., sorry to keep everyone hanging there...the client later calls me to tell me that the painter (A.A.'s painter not mine) has made new samples and she likes one of them.  I guess he got busy after I left and did four samples for her...she chose one of those.  Sooooooooo, I have to call my faux guy and tell him the job is off ( I hated to do that to him!).  The client also said that the contractor (A.A.) had told her that I said she needed to redo the marble flooring in the kitchen and breakfast area and also that I had the perfect porcelain tile to go in there....huh????? In the beginning the client made it clear that the flooring stayed and was not part of the plan in the remodel...after all she has it throughout the downstairs area.  So next I get a message from her asking for me to bring over the sample of the tile....you know the one that I told the contractor about...NOT!!! So, being gracious (designers are that way!) I go pick four samples for her for flooring choice...porcelain would not have been my choice at all!!!  Now days natural stone is so affordable and so beautiful...if you are using granite and then a high end marble for the island....you need something just as dressy on the floor, but subtle enough to not take the spotlight away from the marble island top......I really do give up!  I got a call that she loved one of the samples, so next the contractor calls me up and thanks me and says this is going to be a real showplace.....and that it is really all coming together.  He can't wait to show other clients this project.....I am still here scratching my head and wondering what kind of game this is we are playing!!!  I have since returned to the job to see what is going on...the same painter is still there, although not talking to me now....so I must be the bad guy here.....and the cabinets have not been touched, although there are two doors that have a milky, almost limey green wash over them and then a band of metallic that looks like a child smeared it on!!!   Sooooooooooooooo, I really do know this is sooooo unprofessional of me to vent in public about a client...I did not mention names here... and for all of my clients that do read this blog, I adore you all (you know it is not you I am talking about!!), appreciate you even more now, and am back on track focused on your projects (yes...andrea I will have figures for your beautiful bedding by the end of this day and yes, Cari, I will have the estimate to your Dad for the remodel and exterior projects......and I'm looking forward to next week and seeing or talking to all of you!!! -Sandra
