Introducing The Warehouse Art Chix:

  • Cari Shell
    My name is Cari Shell, I am the newest addition to the Warehouseartchix. I have just recently returned back to Texas from 5 years in New Mexico. (Hello to all my friends back there!!!-miss you bunches!) In New Mexico I was blessed to work with special needs children and fell in love, what a great experience to love and teach those children. I am the mother of three girls and grandmother to two (yes I am young to be a grandmother). My background is in Faux finishing, having previously worked for Sandra and her design Business. I have always had a love for art and am a self trained artist. Now I am back working for Sandra and am loving every minute of it! It brings back all of my inspiration and creativity to be around these chix! Keep watching for all our fun and exciting projects to come!
  • Debra Johnson
    I am a wife and a mother to an 11 year old daughter, and an infant son. * NO...I'm not young...I've just S P R E A D out my child bearing years!:) I am an ART NUT by day and a 'wanna be' mom and wife by night and weekends. I say 'wanna be' due the fact that I am always looking for ways to improve in this department and have been very fortunate by being blessed with some fantastic friends who are terrific mothers that inspire me forward. I thought I had it all together until this new 'cutie patootie' came into my life...and now ANYTHING GOES for getting life, family, and art all into a 24 hour period. 4:00 pm........is as good as 4:00 am ~ the lights are always ON at my house. My art background is in ....simply being poor most of my life:) * Hehe ~ One MAKES... what they can't buy!! *And.... you learn to see beauty in OTHER things.... OTHER than what's in the store:) I am very blessed to be able to stay home and create an income with my weird 'what-nots'. A few years ago I had a cottage art studio called The Little Yellow House. We held many art classes, and rented the house out for events. It was filled... floor to ceiling.... with bizarre and wonderful creations!! * My favorite DECOR was the laughter of friends!! So now each week I join the other two Warehouse Artchix in the warehouse to create fun and colorful WHIMSIES together!! I LOVE this time with these 2 free, fabulous spirits!
  • Sandra Feazel
    My name is Sandra Feazel and I am one third of The Warehouse Artchix! I am Mother to the two incredible children God has blessed me with. A daughter in college and a son in high school. I am an interior designer by day and an artist every chance I get. My back ground is in fine art and I spent my college years traveling and studying in Europe, an incredible experience that I hope to return to someday! I am blessed to be able to create everyday either in my design work or in my Studio. Each week I join the other two Warehouse Artchix in the warehouse to create together...feeding of the creative energy of some fabulous, fun and funky females that I so thankfully call dear friends! We hope you enjoy our art, mainstream it is not, it is just for fun and meant to make your heart soar!!!

~~~Bla-Bla Blog!~~~
Quick blog..short note...my patootie ( or is it patooty??)  Last nightz blog was nothing near a quick blog...even gave you more TMI  on my life, than you ever wanted to know! hehehe...I guess you are thinking that I am hoggin the blog...and where is that Nancy chix???  Still a no-show in the WORLD OF BLOG...hmmmmm guess that is why I feel the need to fill the space,I am making up for that empty place that Nancy is leaving here on the chix site!  Nancy it is all your fault...so come on, get to bloggin!  Well, we meet at the warehouse for our weekly dose of fun and funky creativity tomorrow night! YIPee, can't wait to see my sweet friends and have some fun, food and stress free time to create our hearts out!!!  It takes me sooo long to load up all the goodies that we might possibly need, that I am thinking that I need two of everything. One for my Studio and one for my warehouse (my son thinks art supplies are my addiction...guess he worries that I might run out of money and try and feed him a painted paper cupcake! ) I really do have one of those in the making at the Studio.  Speaking of the Studio, I snapped a few quick (yeah right!) pics today of some of the fun creations that are soon to be listed on the Etsy.2007_0722warehouseartchix20143_2
Just some of those art supplies waiting to be used!
The Studio has rafters like a little version of a barn, and the walls have already been two colors...sure to change again as soon as I have the time!  I love to see how color makes me feel...happy, sad, energized..that is the interior designer part of me!
Now where are the new creation pics...2007_0722warehouseartchix20157
Here is a skinny little charm that is just waiting to be soldered and embellished.  My favorite thing lately is to make at least one quick collage each day, with no regard to size at the time they are being made. I pull out all the supplies and just go for it.  Very fast, no time to worry about mistakes, because it's just an experiment (experience!) in art.  Then I can take these images and alter them, make them whatever size or shape, or use only a portion and then I use paint, pastels, markers,inks, glazes, color washes...to make the finished pieces.  It comes from not being able to part with the first image, but loving that I can share the creation in other formats.  This is a portion of a collage that has a beautiful victorian image of a bird swooping down to greet a cute vintage girlie that is wandering amongst the garden flowers.  Lots of blues and greens in this one. Coooool colors.
2007_0722warehouseartchix20159 Now here is the backside...hard to see. It is a tiny bird nest with little birdies tucked inside resting on a topiary like stem that is rising out of the roses.
Well,I am out of room for tonight so I guess I will say GOODNITE GIRLZ...sWEet DReAms to you all. ~~~Sandra
Attempting to add pictures-
Well here goes... I am going to try to add images, so...testing 1-2-3, testing 1-2-3...
2007_0723rosecanvas0004 Rose Canvas I - Darling chunky canvas with Raspberry and Red Roses on a collaged Aqua background. Measures 5x5 and is 1 1/2 inches thick with gallery wrapped edges.
This little jewel is great for hanging on the wall...2007_0723rosecanvas0002_2
at any angle. Add it to a collection (meaning more to come!) of funky rose art or vintage rose plates...
The design extends to the edges with collaged and painted leaves floating on a vivid handpainted background.
2007_0723rosecanvas0009 Roses are my fav thing to paint and I love the way Red and Pink combined just pop!!!  Hope the pics show this!!
2007_0723rosecanvas0006 Here's a close-up, so sorry for the glare. Very Painterly with lovely layers. A signed original... Now to see if I can list it on the etsy!
More art soon to come and check out our etsy....give me the day to list on it!!! How exciting is this!!!! Little things make me so happy!!
-post and pics by Sandra  p.s. Nancy is a great photographer, I am not, so my darling daughter Sydney who is home for the summer from college helped me out this morning! Thanks Syd!!
