Where do I begin????

What a month February has been!  Usually, I get to celebrate all month long with some of my favorite color combos: RED and PINK !! Then I celebrate my Birthday just a few days after VALENTINES...but, God had another plan this year, the holidays just flew by and seemed so insignificant compared to taking care of my mom in the hospital and my son who has had the stomach virus and the flu now!  I thankfully just got the stomach virus and am taking Tamiflu to reduce the risk of catching the flu!!!  Now it is almost the end of February and I just wanted to send out a special thanks to Kecia (www.lemoncholys.blogspot.com ) and to Rosalyn Sue (www.littlebluebirddiaries.typepad.com ) who made my month so much sweeter even with all the chaos!!!  I received Valentines goodies from each of them and what a treat it was!!! Thank you girls!  Today I will post pics of one group of goodies and tomorrow the other...want to make the fun last and last!!!

Rosalyn Sue sent some fun little faux confections, handmade notecards, fun paper cupcake liners and a little set of shakers filled with sugary sparkles and hearts!  She also sent the sweetest little ice cream cone cupcake toppers , some red and white twine and some yummy candies that I can't show you because I ate them all!  Stress does that to me...all sweet treats are gone and I won't even begin to tell you how many I have eaten.  Why does sugar make us feel so much better when we are tired and stressed??? Wish I knew and them I would not be looking at an empty Celebrity Bakery box on my desk right now!! Those pink thumbprint cookies are better than Valium for me!!! Thank you Rosalyn Sue for bringing cheer to my day and treats to my mailbox!!!! Thank you to everyone that has emailed their thoughts and prayer for my mom! She is doing better everyday and I have not seen her look so rested and refreshed in many years!!! Yesterday she looked so chic in her zebra trimmed black velour sport set with her face filled with color and her eyes just sparkling!!!  An answer to prayer that she is progressing, God is so good!!! I spent last night driving home from the hospital just thanking him for all he has done for us!!! A little older and a little wiser!!!

Do these eyes look any older to you?? They just turned 45 along with me and guess what we did to celebrate??? Yep, a trip to the eye doctor...seems these babies are a little tired and not focusing as well as they used to!!  The next big adventure was a trip to purchase my first pair of glasses! Whoohoo!!! I try to celebrate everything in life, so I was determined to make an event out of this, decided I would by two pairs, both would be fun, totally stylish, very funky....so I tried on many pairs, wild colors, cool shapes, finally narrowed it down to three pairs..thinking what the heck it is my b-day so I might just get three!! That was until they started pricing them for me....o.k., so the frames are about 160.00 each...can handle that....then the lenses, you mean the lenses are extra??? Oh yes, 500.00-600.00 dollars extra!!!  I think I slid to the floor at this moment!  I did have a coupon that gave me half off of the lenses (Praise God!!) so for about 360.00 I got ONE pair of fun and funky glasses!  And to top it all off they won't be ready for a week or two!!!  So I got to dish out the moolah but no treat to show for it!!!  It totally burst my Birthday bubble that I was traveling in!!! But then when I came home tonight, I saw that Deb had celebrated my day on the big screen!  I felt honored, I received calls and cards and goodies galore to celebrate the day!!!  Thank you to everyone who helped me get excited about getting older!!!hehehe!!!  Oh yeah...not older, just wiser!!!! ----post by Sandra

INCREDIBLE!

I am amazed at the responses to Deb's giveaway!!! So many people have responded, of course I know why...her artwork is fantastic!!! Who would not love to have one of those fun heart canvas!!! They are wonderful and so is the artist behind them! I have so enjoyed reading Deb's stories of motherhood, she has a flair for writing and adding her own style of humor...it could keep me entertained for days on end!!!  and that baby Jack!  what a sweetie he is,too precious for words!! That is the incredible part!!! now for just a little post from me....not much going on here except spending my days at the hospital with my mom, who is getting better day by day.  I am longing for a day to just play in my studio...hoping for Saturday!  But I have painted some different things lately: Blue skies and Texas sunsets!

all of this and more are painted inside a plaster dome in a dining room in a home I have been working on for a friend/client.  The dome and it's rim were completely white when I arrived, so I faux finished the rim to look like wood, to match the woodwork trim in the home .

{Guess what came to my house today???} and answers to other pertinent questions~~~

Can you just hear my squeals of delight??? After contemplating the color to paint my Living Room, coming to my fellow bloggers for your opinion....guess what I did??? No, I did not paint yet....I purchased some vintage tiles on ebay on a whim ( I'm thinking that financial planners and Dave Ramsey are frowning on this "whim" theory that I live by!) Just look at these: 17 vintage rose tiles!!! I can not begin to tell you what this does to my brain!!!! Creative overload! The seller listed them as antique green rose tiles ....green? Well, with my designer's eye (don't laugh! I may be 44, soon to be 45, but my eye for color is the one thing that has not started to go...yet!) They looked more like a blue-ish color to me...a little teal and turquoise tint to them...well when they arrived and I put them next to the color swatches *******YIPEEE, WhaHOOOOO!!!***** They are fantastic, fabulous, over the top perfect!!! There are 17 of these lovely ladies and they need a little TLC before I make my master plan with them...thinking maybe mosaic backsplash in the kitchen....hmmm, will play with that idea!  They are really thick tiles, grouped together and bordered with something pretty might be the way to go.....well, needless to say the kitchen is on the front burner now!  Besides it really does need some major overhaul...so to answer the next question...

Which color got the most votes....in case you are tuning in late...I am trying to decide between Sherwin Williams paint colors of Buoyant Blue and Tidewater to paint my living room.  The total tally proved Bouyant Blue to be the winner for the living room!!!  I counted ann marie just once even though she voted three times (serious color girl!!) only joking as I don't think she meant to vote three times (??) but Tidewater comes in a close second with only one vote under!  BUT...You will love this....the tidewater looks quite lovely against the tiles...thinking kitchen maybe??? Need to try that one out on the wall in there and see!  I will keep you posted on the updates...er....demolition of my house!!!! Maybe if I do before and after photos, it would inspire me to keep going....want to cheer me on...keep commenting and lets see where this color journey takes us!!! Besides, you may just see something in the before pics that you need for your cottage....all cast offs will be for sale on etsy!!!! Tell your friends!!! GREAT DEALS FOR ALL!!!!
